Here is my photo of African baboon taken in Africa, Tanzania. This is alpha-male and he is always on alert and watchful of enemies. A troop (i.e. family) of baboons may consist of more than 60 members of both genders and different ages. Alpha-male protects his family not only from enemies (the main enemy of baboons is an African leopard, not a lion as one could suggest!) but from other adult baboon males. There is always strong hierarchy within the family but alpha-male's superiority is not insured at all.  He has to keep his physical and mental condition as it's best to be the dominant member for as longer time as possible. Hence he often shows long canines and it's a fact that they are of the same size as leopard's canines.

 "I'm the strongest!"
