Are Siberian Huskies for the Tropics?
Fellow Steemians,
Two years ago we decided to expand our family with one pair of Siberian Huskies. We live in the tropics so we were a bit hesitant as these type of breeds originally come from colder climates. We bought them in Brazil and were told that they have adjusted to the hotter climates. So 2 years later, on 14th February this year we were happily suprised by the female giving birth to six healthy cute puppies.

A few must knows
- Huskies shed a lot of hair, at least twice a year.
- They are very playful and friendly wolf look-a-like pets. Not a watchdog at all.
- They are intelligent, athletic and were bred to pull sleds for extremely long distances. So they have a lot of energy!!
- They are not to be trusted with small animals as their instinct is to hunt them.
- They are also not to be trusted off-leash. When they see a small animal they will go after it, forgetting all commands and traffic. They may easily be lost.
So they are indeed used to the warmer climates...at least the ones who apparently were born in these climates for generations. They do like to play a lot in water...in the rain and like ice cubes a lot.
