how to treat an iguana

in #animals5 years ago

Iguanas are one of the most popular reptile animals that are made at home. In fact, how to maintain an iguana feels tricky and easy.

Although the way to care for it is quite complex, it does not mean maintaining an iguana is a bad idea.

If you are interested in raising animals on this one, you must know how to care for iguanas before deciding to commit further.

The following are things that must be considered for preparing iguana maintenance:

  1. Make an iguana always get a good supply of light, especially UVB rays. Because without a light supply will make iguanas lack of vitamin D, can not absorb calcium and other health problems. This UVB lamp functions to replace the sun's rays if there is no time to dry the iguana regularly.

  2. Provide a wide cage, because the wider the cage the better the growth of the iguana. Cages made of wire are very suitable especially for hot environments (open cages), but cages made of glass can also be provided but must stabilize the environment.
Place the base of the cage in the form of carpet or paper (avoid materials made of leather, wood or plastic shavings).

  3. Feed the Iguana.
As herbivorous animals, iguana foods are vegetables. Examples of foods that can be given are broccoli, mustard greens, beans, and pumpkin.
Cauliflower can not meet the nutritional needs of iguanas, so adding more colorful vegetables or fruits with certain nutritional content is very helpful in adding nutrients to their food.
Add fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, bananas, apples, melons and cantaloupe as an addition to vitamins and vegetable protein.

  4. Do not unite several iguanas in the same cage, because it will cause aggression. If forced to unite iguanas in the same cage must be given a separator / separator per tail.
Wash the eating area regularly to avoid the growth of bacteria from food scraps left in the dining area.

  5. To bathe it, we need to use betel boiled water as anti-bacterial as well. So that it can kill germs on the skin of the Iguana to avoid fungus
