Save Leuser Ecosystem
On Thursday March 15, 2018, a person (who prefer not to be named) reported to a Leuser Conservation Forum (FKL) ranger saying that he has a baby orangutan. His claim was that the baby orangutan was separated from the mother in Peunaron, East Aceh. FKL followed up the report to the authorities, BKSDA, and our partner @orangutaninformationcentre (OIC) The orangutan is now safe, and will be sent to rehabilitation centre in Sibolangit, North Sumatra for treatment and preparation to be released in the wild. 
The population of orangutan in the #LeuserEcosystem will continue to decrease if their habitat is not protected. We thank the individual for reporting the incident, as well as BKSDA and OIC for their help on this case.
