A Fork in the Road

Am I the only who is tired of this political war going on for 4 years? I can’t comprehend how close minded everyone is nowadays. Everyone just spews out racial garbage, and it continues to gain support. Let’s take a look first at what is racism and who is actually racist. Racism is defined as discrimination (unjust treatment) based solely on a persons race. I fail to see most of the racism that occurs, but I feel like the United States has come a very long way in combatting racism. It’s to the point now where other races may have even more opportunities than white people in opportunities in college, jobs, etc. BLM gains tons of support when someone posts a video of a member of another race getting hurt by a cop and most times they’re hard to watch, but I don’t understand how people can’t wonder about the events leading up to the video and the fact that there are lots of white people getting killed by cops as well.
Approximately 226 blacks were killed in the US by police in 2020 and 432 whites were killed. This seems like a crazy number considering blacks only make up about 13.4 percent of the population, but let’s look deeper now into crime and why so many black people might be killed instead of just labeling it as racism. In 2019 there were 5070 whites arrested for murder, but 5660 blacks were arrested for murder as well. A certain amount of 13.4 percent of the population somehow made up half the arrests for murder. And any of these people regardless of race are capable of doing something to police that provokes a killshot. It seems like BLM should be less about trying to defund the police, and more about lessening the amount of crime that goes on among the black population. How can we limit the amount of crime you may ask? Well, the best way to do that would to be to create more jobs and more opportunities for all minorities to get above the poverty line. 18.8 percent of blacks live under the poverty line which is the most of any other race, thus they commit lots of crimes, which would be the case for any race largely under the poverty line. You have to do what you can to survive, right? It seems that poverty relates more to crime not race, and I feel like even basing something off race is some type of racism. The more everyone relates literally everything to race, the more racism that will occur, the more divided our country will become. Well that is how I feel about this race war going on.
Let’s talk about politics, the black population historically have always voted Democrat, but why? The Democratic Party leverages support from them. All they do is say what they want to hear regardless of whether they plan on doing it or not. Most African Americans are under a group mentality that they must vote Democrat. Joe Biden literally said “If you don’t know who to vote for, you aren’t black.” Joe Biden is obviously a puppet of the Democratic Party and doesn’t plan to do anything of value, merely a filler so democrats can hope to completely take over everything which would potentially cause the downfall of our country. Hell, Joe Biden’s mind probably won’t even last his presidency, and Kamala Harris will become president. The democrats have even drummed up so much hate for Trump that almost no one talks about the record low poverty, unemployment, bringing companies back to the US, and the flourishing stock market (if covid wasn’t a thing). None of this unrest would have been caused if people would have just accepted him, and democrats now hope to unite the country. Joe, if you could get these 70 million trump voters to accept you, I’ll applaud you, but anything you say will make them hate you more. The only thing he can do as a president is not destroy the economy with terrible regulations, taxes, and whatever else. I’m right leaning, I don’t completely support Trump, but it’s plain to see that democrats have completely shunned republicans and that is just wrong. Most people who support Trump are actually not racist, most republicans are not racist, and, here’s the kicker, MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT RACIST. Quit throwing race around like it’s the 1800s. Thank you for reading, I want everyone to know that I appreciate both parties, and they are both necessary to keeping our country at the best.
