Prismatic Selfie #5 The whole prism/ multi image effect is in itself an optical ...

... illusion, but when I zoom in it really seems like each reflection has it's own character and unique expression sometimes. It becomes multidimensional for a typical 2d image.

I suppose it makes sense. Everytime I take a lens apart I have to marvel at how precisely engineered glass has little distinction to the untrained eye. Convex, concave, diameter & thickness and... that's about all I can decipher. Clearly each optical piece has an important role. It's safe to assume that if you remove any individual element you'll lose all image definition and plane of focus. Just ry it. Reverse one element and you'll suddenly feel like you are looking through a magnifying glass or binoculars. It's all perfectly engineered to keep anyone from noticing the series of calculated exagerations that result in sharp, contrasty, crystal clear representations of the beauty we chose to remember, or in art's sake: create.

So maybe I shouldn't marvel at how one multi-sided extra glass element protruding in front of the lens can transform reality, but with so many possibilities left to discover I choose to appreciate each little detail that stands on its own.
