Hello everyone and I hope all is well with all this madness going on. Strange Times.

Anyway, due to being housebound at the moment (not wanting to go out due to the virus) I have been compelled to create more at home.

I have been a fan of drone lit shots and not owning one I thought I'd have a go at creating the effect in miniature. The work of Phill Fisher on Flickr has always caught my eye so he is the main inspiration behind this along with being a thoroughly sound bloke.

For these shots I collected some flint stones from my back garden of various shapes and sizes and arranged them on the countertop. I have a very small torch which I used to illuminate the stones from above and behind. Before illuminating them I exhaled a very steady and slow breath of vape from my e-cigarette which softens the light and provides definition of the subjects from the background.

Here is another using the same technique but with two colours.

Whilst shooting these stones I remembered a person I follow on Instagram called Adamdog who creates mind blowing space and planet shots using models. I decided to turn one of the stones into a meteorite.

I took a piece of flint sat on a short length of acrylic rod, I placed this on a sheet of black card scattered with sugar.
I got a till receipt wrapped round my small torch and drew the tail on the comet.

Definitely more of this to come in the near future.

All shot during a single long exposure in complete darkness.
