Jalfrezi Nights - lightpainting is a great social event toosteemCreated with Sketch.

I was recently introduced to the "Spanish Approach" to lightpainting where half way through the evening we take a break and visit a restaurant for a meal and a drink. On this occasion it was a great Indian restaurant in the least expected of places in the middle of the Derbyshire Peak District!

For this shot above, I started with a test shot to create a black unexposed space in the middle within which to add more light:

Once happy with the first part of the shot I just "went for it" and started the exposure. First I shot the camera rotated part, then capped the lens without ending the exposure. I then changed lenses in complete darkness and swapped to another tripod pointed at my LP buddy @steem.tom.hill I removed the lens cap and Tom quickly triggered a burst of gelled light from my LED Lenser X21r2 to light up the unexposed black space left behind from the first part of the image. Ended the exposure, job done.

This shot was from a cracking collaboration with Dennis, Nicole & Tom, where I was introduced by Tom to the "Spanish Approach" to light painting. It seems in this case, the Spanish Approach involves fuelling with a "British Indian" in a very dark curry house. Note to self; bring a torch to read the menu next time!

About me: I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.

Very cool stuff pal. Your colour choice and the rotation composition work a treat together.
