128 Years Old Italian Renaissance Clock Tower Day/Night

Hello, fellow steemians! I would love to share with you a beautiful day and night collage of Varna's Clock Tower.

The Tower was built in the year of 1890. It stands 24m tall and it's embedded in a larger structure containing a theatre and restaurants. It was designed in 1888 and served as a point of communication in the prevention and control of fire from 1890 to 1898 when the telephone replaced its function. The clockwork was bought in England and put by the Bulgarian revolutionary Oton Ivanov. It is a real piece of art. The clockwork is closed in a wooden “box” to which lead winding narrow staircases. The face of the clock is situated at the front. It controls clock movement and punctuality. By a system of shafts and cogwheels, the hands of the clock move outside the tower. The clockwork is set in motion by weights hanging in the middle of the tower. When the clock needs to be repaired its hands are moved manually. In such a way the people of Varna can always be punctual on their dates. The same clockwork remained intact for the last 128 years and still gives you the correct time.
