Architectural Photography - Medieval ruins of the church of Aracs

There is a solitary church ruin in Délvidék (South Land), Serbia, surrounded by plough land and there is no n inhabited areas nearby. This area was once inhabited, and only the walls of the church remained, the others were destroyed.
The church was built in the beginning of the 13th century in honor of St. Nicholas and a monastery belonged to it. The medieval village, Aracs was once a prospering settlement with many craftsmen and merchandisers. In the 16th century, due to the Turkish conquest, the village started to decline and then depopulated. According to a legend, underground treasure was hidden beneath the church. If there were gold, silver and gemstones, they could have been stolen long ago. This place is now a place of pilgrimage for the Hungarians living in Serbia.
