Putting Together A Day Of Art!

in #art6 years ago (edited)

The last 3 days have been the craziest ones in the past week as I was busy with the exhibition mentioned in one of my earlier posts. I am exhausted and drained even as I write this as I haven't gotten the chance to get some rest. But I think the entire experience was worth it.

I have uploaded a few pictures of the entire process from the first 2 days and will be sharing the pictures from the main day in another post because there are just too many pictures. I met some incredible visual artists who were present on the staging and prepping day and the best part was them working in mediums I didn’t know much about.

I exhibited my work with 6 of my other friends including @komal and @ayushijain and that’s why it was super special to me.

An open jam hosted by Jaipur Jantar hostel. This was my first time at a proper jam and my mind was blown away by the end of it. Some incredibly talented people with very good sense of humour :P

On the 8th, we started of with other ideas about presenting and displaying after a night of failure and stress. We were a little worried as it was very little time. Little did we know it was only about to get worse. We tried using double sided tape for a few frames and it seemed successful in the beginning. Our happiness was short lived after one of paintings fell and the corner of the frames shattered. This scared me a little and it was frustrating because we had a plenty of restrictions already.

After a little brainstorming we finally managed to figure out a way and started working around evening till midnight. Below is a snap of one of the many arrangements that we tried. We also got lots of words of encouragement from the guests in the hostel and it was fun to chat with them while working :D

A friend working on her delicious treats for the workshop next day. I and few of my friends were her little tasters. Just the perfect job for me :P Because I got to taste the entire flavour palette and feed my soul.

Wow I had no idea how much effort foes into a show. Love seeing the behind the scenes and appreciating how much thought goes into a show.
Personally prefer looking at art way down low. Something about crouching and finding the right angle to view a piece makes it more memorable than dozens of hanging frames. Thank you for sharing:)

Glad you enjoyed the BTS. :) We actually had lower displays the next which were decided on impulse. It made the space look much more interesting! I agree with the crouching and finding your own angle. That's exactly what I enjoy about looking at art. Cheers <3
