Creation of ART - HOW TO make an stunning abstract action painting - STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL - Small canvas version!

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Today I want to show you a new tutorial how to make an abstract action painting.

This piece is painted on a tiny canvas. It was also very new for me to work on a small one like this, because I usualy paint on very large canvases. It seems to be even more difficult to create a great abstract even smaler the canvas is. But for the first tries I thik this painting looks good and I hope you agree! :)

This artwork has the size of 25x25cm and is a gift for a special person.

Following you can see how I have made this painting...

Enjoy and have fun!

TUTORIAL - ABSTRACT ACTION PAINTING
HOW TO CREATE A TINY ABSTRACT ARTWORK

LET'S PAINT!

Start with a blank canvas. This one has the size of 25x25cm and is one of the smalest I have ever worked with.

Select the colors you like. I have used some bright colours as you can see.

CIMG8869.jpg

Start painting randomly with a brush and use each color you have selected. Make sure to clean the brush after each color or you will get a dirty brown instead of clean and strong colors.

Your result sould look like this.

CIMG8871.jpg

Repeat the process above untill there is no blank canvas left.
Please mind the edges of the canvas!

CIMG8872.jpg

When your canvas in colourful enough and you are satisfied with the result so you can begin with the next step.
Take a "large amount" of color with the brush...

CIMG8873.jpg

...and throw the color from the brush on the canvas...

CIMG8874.gif

Repeat this process with all of you colors.

Untill your result looks like this.

As next you have to put a small amount of black into a empty color bottle.
Be sure that you don't take to much black or this mistake will kill the panting!!!

CIMG8901.jpg

Throw the black color with much sense so that you get a result like this.
It still looks cool but let's do some more...

CIMG8902.jpg

Don't forget the edges!!!

CIMG8903.jpg

Repeat this process with small amounts of other colors untill you are satisfied with your result.
You can also throw the color directly with you hands just like me. This give you even more sense for the color and how much you will throw on the canvas.

Your result should look like this.

NEARLY FINISHED...

As last step I have used a medium amount of white color wich I have filled into a empty bottle of white.

This was the most critical moment... the final step!
The white spash is very eye-catching and makes this painting special and very unique and gives them their very own character.

Nice work on small canvas.
It would be better if you blog the tutorials like this...
I am expecting a tutorial on other complex painting like your other previous works.

I like the step-by-step process you explained. Many don't do this often better.

You keep blogging. Art lovers keep loving :)

i don't understand art but looks cool good job

It turned out great! I must give it a try and then hang the painting in my office :) thank you for sharing it!

:) Oh man, I'm thinking of my three young kids and how much they'd love to paint this way. Loving the splashes of paint I'm seeing in your art space. I'll have to figure out a way for the kids to get a little messier (without destroying the home).

I really like your artwork @alex-zerr. I also love your "how-to's". Great work. Following and looking forward to more.
Cheers,
Bucky
