Serenity
Sometimes, instead of telling you something about the artwork, or the story behind it, I will include music. Some song or track that, for me, resonates with the painting or drawing. Maybe even a playlist, we'll see.
Obviously, this will be music I like, so this is also a way of simply sharing aural delights.
A few observations
If it's an instrumental track, it's easier for you to just take it as what it is.
If it's a song, keep in mind that the lyrics may play a role, or they may be completely insignificant. They may even diametrically opposed.
If the selected music is from a soundtrack, do not think it has anything to do with the movie or the track title. The music is what matters.
If you ever have any musical associations to my paintings, feel free to add them in the comments!
And so, it begins...
Serenity (2014), 80 x 60 cm
And here are 3 very different tracks...
The Haunted Ocean, part 1 by Max Richter
Divinity Theme, by A. R. Rahman
I like this idea of connecting music to your art after it's done! ... What happens all the time with me is, I usually listen to music while I'm creating, so usually when I hear that music again later, I'm reminded of the piece...
Sometimes, I actually deliberately avoid listening to certain music while I work so as not to "ruin" it in the future by always having to think of that piece when I hear it again, hehe...
Other times, I create a playlist of new songs that I like and deliberately play it while working.
Same thing happens of course with other activities... Reading a book, building a puzzle, etc =)
Every painting is a journey, which is part of a bigger journey... and traveling without music, well that's just sad. :))
c'moooon! thats a mindblowing concept! its awesome!.
Really love that fantasy themed style of yours, its really cool!
:) Thanks @juandvg!
oh wow! I can see we listen to some of the same music! Thanks for sharing! I guess we will have a lot of music sharing to do also! It is a very important part of my life also and directly influences the paintings I´m doing!
Same here! Like Nietzsche said, "Without music, life would be a mistake."
Ok that music was just so cosmic!!! 🌌
Definitively see the connection with your painting 💙
