BEASTLY TALES
TRUTH TELLING IS A VIRTUE
How Archie told a real big Whopper
To a rather silly copper.
Archibald Klug was given to fibbing,
Imposture, lying and also much ribbing.
In polite society such actions are frowned upon
With deceitful behaviour all trust is gone.
And so it was, one summer’s day,
While Archie’s parents were far away.
That he decided to call the Police
To report a villain, lurking in trees.
Of course there was no one, Archie was bored
But to the Police it was arrest to be scored
Squad cars roared up with sirens shrieking
Archibald hiding behind curtains, peeking
Snickering and giggling at the coppers searching
For someone imaginary among the trees lurking
Soon there was a sharp knock on the door
Two coppers stood there, guns ready to draw.
“You are the one who made the false call”
Accused the copper as he entered the hall.
Archibald started to babble and blunder
But the copper said “Arrest you are under!”
“Wasting the time of the constabulary”
“Is against the law, as you will see!”
So they hauled him off to juvenile court
Where the magistrate sentenced him just as he ought.
“Twenty hours of community service”
(Now that made Archibald very nervous!)
“Unless you promise not to tell lies!”
“But nearly everyone does, Sir!” Archibald cries.
“But I won’t anymore, if you insist.”
So easy for a liar, not to resist.
So Archie walked free, without a blemish
And spent the next day declaring he was FLEMISH
Which was, of course, another lie
His parents shrugged with resigned sigh.
good art writing drawing poetry humor post thank for shearing
Absolutely truthfulness is a virtue and lie is sinful and the root of all sins, better we always speaks the truth.
👨 it's a loose solution, Judge~
Solid. Not quite as good as some of the past few days but keep it up :)
Nice, not easy to come up with a rhyming moralistic tale. Enjoyed it. Obviously you put a lot of effort there.
Brilliant drawings and poems, if only everyone listened to the message behind them.
Thank you.
There is a folk tale in our culture, the poem is similar to that, and reminded me of the tale after a decade or so. Excellent picks of the words
Good content! Social media needs more moral tales and fables. I write some occasionally. Keep up the good work.
