BEASTLY TALES
WRITER’S BLOCK
Owen Pengally, a famous writer,
A writer of novels, each an inviter,
To producers of block-buster motion pictures,
To buy the filming rights, without any strictures.
Pengally’s novels were all about persons,
Who formed part of families with so many worse-”uns”.
Yes, members of Dynastic family trees,
Hero’s, ne'er-do-wells, and villains, if you please.
Overcoming preponderate odds,
Each character defies many vile sods,
Driving them away, to their just desserts,
Those “baddies” getting their comeuppance, the squirts!
The characters are all stupendously rich,
They deign to mix with others, son of a bitch!
Always acting and feeling to be quite superior,
Leaving common folk to their place, inferior.
One fat volume followed another,
Generations pass, mother to grandmother.
And when sufficient tales have been told,
When enough “Best Seller” records have been sold.
They can be batched together as chronicles in order,
And sold en-masse locally, and over the border.
So, to be able to write all this fluff,
This extraordinary sophisticated stuff,
What background did Owen Pengally have?
He’d been born in a two-up, two-down with outside lav.
Humble origin for an architect of Sagas,
Involving the rich and famous, so gaga’s
Their small cottage was in a Welsh village,
Not renowned for high drama and pillage,
But, sophistication Pengally managed to conjure up.
To make it seem he was accustomed to the stirrup cup.
The province of society most high,
He could write about it and tell you why!
Hi @beastlybanter, Would you mind looking at my drawing.
Brilliantly written!
