Nightly Doodling #50 - Social Media Is A Strange Concept

in #art5 years ago

In tune or out of touch?

Make of it what you will. Likes, comments, shares, streams, plays, views...

Even though we are all connected, because we either have to, are forced to or just want to, I can't help to be skeptic about our A.I. future. Not the technology, but the morality.

The reason for me to tap in and out social media, is because I see the potential and positives, and it's probably the best place for creatives. But I also despise how it does consume us, as we try to show our best side only, doing everything to maintain a facade or judge the social world based on headlines, words and images.

These are just personal values I cherish. It is a fact that you could miss out on opportunities that were never available before, and pobably won't be available anymore in the future. I would even go as far as saying that we arguably live in the best times because of this, regardless of claims that our world is foul and messed up. It has always been messed up, the internet simply exposed us.

The idea that you can create a living or financially stable future from your bedroom is an insane concept that most haven't properly respected or appreciated yet. I did not, as I am not in that position, but do see that the proper grind is all that it takes.

Regardless, its future is inevitable, and it does make for great artistic content...

I always have different reasons for staying on various platforms. What kept me on Steemit is meeting people who are more creative, have more perspective and genuinely want to help or support. Oversaturation of the market happens on most platforms, small-talk or short-term ''visionaries'' will always tap in when something takes off.

Honestly, I've never really invested much time into crypto or used Steemit as a ''money grind'' in that regard. I viewed it as a social media with more integrity and genuine users/traffic throughout the platform, so sharing creativity would have feedback, which is important to an artist.

I might have to get more into the crypto side from this point, it's a fascinating world. However, my content will always be my priority on the platform.

Actual blogging or writing is something I don't really do, so I would like to know if you would like to see more of that. Sharing opinions/perspectives is something I need to do more as a person and I'm open for conversation!

Would you like to see more concepts like this? Also, how do you feel about this topic, and what is Steem(it) to you?

I like that, thanks :)

I didn't see the hand at first and when I did I was like WHOAH 😳🤯

That's actually interesting, the little like button is so familiar, but the hand is unrecognizable at first. Glad you like it :)
