I think your friend is spot on - a painting doesn't have to be beautiful, but it should evoke a reaction and strong feeling.

As for this painting I think it's astethically pleasing. But still I enjoy more that it is filled with so many details and messages. I can imagine that for you it was also extra meaningful and interesting to create this peace where you use art to reflect these thoughts.

• very cool piece . For me my favorite parts is the Sakura tree which is only blossoming on one side as well as the black sheep crossing. I guess there are many black sheeps that need to cross or else we will suck Mother Earth dry with our greed
