A "sort of Collab" with @beautifulbullies : My rendition of her photograph with new title: "Look out a Bear!"

in #art6 years ago

This is my take on @beautifulbullies wonderful photograph from this post here and I hope she finds it funny.

I had commented on another wonderful photo she had taken of her son in a tree and said, it'd be a wonderful painting. She said, "go for it". I did this one instead.

I saw her amazing photo on today's post, and thought I want to do THIS one. I hope she doesn't mind. Here is the more full size version.

And here is just the sketch without the watercolour:

Now, I must point out that in her original photo of her tree-climbing son, there is no bear. I took Artistic License here. But, being an animal lover and oft inclined to want to include animals in my work, I admit I could not help it. I hope she thinks it funny. I like my art to sometimes have a bit of a surreal quality or a touch of the tongue n cheek. This is just a quick study, but it was fun none the less.

Here is Her original photo that I used for inspiration, I hope it is ok that I post it here (IF not please let me know and I will remove it).

If you appreciate my work please feel free to upvote, resteem, and by all means comment.

Kinda reminds me of a live action Winnie the Pooh.

It's like you read my mind :) I'm going to get back with you for a collab, too. I've been having a think on what to paint.

Took the words out of my mouth😄 Good thing I read all the other comments before chiming in.

Wow! You did such a great job capturing all the details from the tree and the child’s expression. I love the bear that you added.

Thank you, sometimes its the simplest swipe of the pencil here and there to capture the spirit of the face.

Haha I absolutely LOVE this! :D Thank you so much, my hubby and son both love it too, you are amazing! :) I have to say I laughed out loud at your advisement " I must point out that in her original photo of her tree-climbing son, there is no bear." I can almost imagine me telling the bear to pose and stay still while I took the photo lol This is fantastic and I am truly honoured that you used my photo for your inspiration, thank you so much xx

Oh good, I'm so glad. I had mentioned it in your other post and saw this one and just loved the angle and composition. Then I thought, there needs to be a bear! Of course that is how my mind works ;)

Ok, I'm a big fan! I LOVE this and the addition of the bear! :D

Well, thank you.

Oh my gosh i love this! Its so fun that you added imagination to it. And as usual your colors are so luscious...

Thank you. I just thought, Hmm what if a bear was hanging out up there with him. And the luck of we artists is if we imagine it was can make it happen!
