Statues to be Forgotten
Statues to be Forgotten
As the blood-red sunset casts its pixelated haze on the living road littered with dead snakes, the ocean tide edged into the inlet. Slowly it sneaks in, drowning the landscape in surreal contrasts of darkened dyes. The hidden balls in the sky are pushing and pulling while the monkeys on the ground are destroying statues of apes.
Green statues, eroded with acidic white bird droppings are built to last. All statues are erected to withstand the elements of nature, but they always seem to crumble under the weight of sudden social sentiments. These bronzes stand tall in grassy parks surrounded by ancient oaks, but they appear to wilt under the hidden pressure required by rank ideals of societal sanity.
In the mind’s eye these symbolic effigies are placed as memories solely to be forgotten. The statues must be built precisely to be torn down. For a race of aquatic apes, meaning only exists in acts of destruction. The star that burns in the corner of the eye can only be satisfied by these entropic acts. This internal star burns on, shining a great light deep into the mind- it shines on, illuminating the shadows of those metallic statues that seem to exist for an ephemeral period in neglected books of disposable time.
That was a creative writing of expression with more illustration to make it more epic may make it more interesting ..Thanks for sharing
