Picture "A look at two thousand yards," written by martial artist Thomas Lee during a battle with Japanese troops for the island of Peleliu in Micronesia. Lee, himself present on the battlefield, encountered many soldiers who, after another storm, fell into a stupor for a while and acquired this characteristic look. Such a reaction is initially characteristic of a person who has experienced a great deal of stress in combat. The ancient authors also wrote about something similar.
