dirty old banana, acrylic painting step by step
Sorry I've been a little absent from steemit lately, but works been a little a hot and heavy. So naturally I had to paint something extremely hot and heavy. This piece depicts a banana slug undressing a ripe old banana.
I started off with an outline, the concept was pretty simple I just had to make sure to center it well and then I added kind of a burst background to try and give it more of an epic effect and help draw the eyes to the focal.
First I laid down a light base coat of all my chosen colors before adding in any of my darker hues, I tried to treat those darker tones as almost the shading effect, because I didn't want to do a whole lot of real shading to this piece, not because I don't like shading, but because I wanted it to be a brighter piece.
I like the way this one turned out, I was little unsure of the use of orange at first but it bounced off the yellow pretty well. sorry if this post isn't as descriptive as I like, but again, what a busy work week.. hope you guys have a great day and I hope you enjoy the post.
have a fun week and check out my etsy if you're interested in this or any other of my paintings in print form www.etsy.com/shop/honeycombwinnie
