This is a painting I did depicting octopus jesus being crucified by some roman squids, complete with a crown of pufferfish.

I took a picture of just the outline this time, things are pretty bland at this point. I start off with a pencil sketch and I used to just start painting it from there, but after getting confused half way through after all the pencil would fall out, I decided it was time to make a more permanent outline to help keep my head straight.

I start adding in my colors, beginning with the background. I use a sea sponge to give the blue a nice blotchy blend that I tend to prefer in the background, I think it helps make the focal images more animate. I'm not to worried about it spilling over some, I clean up what get's into the areas where I plan on putting lighter colors, but if it's going to be a darker hugh, then it'll cover just fine.

At this point I'm pretty close to being done, I got all my colors and blends done, I just need to add black to it. I'll put a solid outline over everything to replace the the ink outline from the beginning and start adding my shading to everything. this is my favorite part of the painting process, it's when everything really cleans up and comes alive to me.

And bam, I'm all done and ready to sell, this is one of my favorite pieces I've done, it was a good time painting it, and it turned out pretty well in my opinion. I hope you all enjoy and if you do, shoot me an upvote and all that, and until next time, one love and have a steemy day!
