Watercolor Painting of Columbine Flower
Two years ago I convinced my mom that we should take a Plein Air class together through the local community college. My mom and I both love making art! We were both frustrated, errr I mean surprised, at how hard the class was. Between learning to use watercolors (when we had both previously used acrylic) and the added difficulty of being outside we were struggling, while laughing a lot, throughout the class.
This is one of the last pieces I did that summer. Out of the WHOLE summer, this is the only piece I felt like I was starting to catch the hang of using watercolors. Below is a picture of the piece mid-process and a glimpse of the flower that served as my muse/model <3
I love that the flower is resiliently growing between two pieces of flagstone. He's a strong little guy! Anyone out there have an account where I can admire your watercolor paintings?! I find watercolors so challenging but so so beautiful.

your painting is nice, do some more practice and you get it right.
awww!! it's ferocious little flower, not gonna let no flagstone keep it down!!! It's beautiful! do you sketch them out in pencil first?
