Paintings on wooden slices
I would sometimes go to my village, find a nice looking, well round-shaped log then cut it into even slices and then paint them.
I usually come up with some "theme" to follow when painting them. The theme for this log was "Silhouettes".
- Bird couple nesting
- Tropical beach
- Asian temple beneath a giant tree
- Floating ruins, remainder of an extreme calamity
- Tribal village, deep hidden in a jungle
- Deer stag in its homelands
- Amazon river wildlife
- Giant bonsai tree
- Deer in a young forest
- Mysterious creatures in the heart of the jungle
- An outcast in the mountains, through hard labor and in many years, was able to transform the landscape, made himself a workshop and finally a place to call home.
- After a big battle, the fighting is finally over and a brave woman is waving the flag of victory and sacrifice...
- A war veteran is walking through the battlefield just days after the the conflicts conclusion. Paying respect to his fallen comrades he barely has strength to return home.
And lastly - this is what the wooden slices look like at first:
I'll be glad to hear your opinions and I will soon make a post about the preparation of one wooden slice so it's nice to paint on and what materials I use. I will update this post with the link when it's ready.
Thank you all for your time.
Wow, they're beautiful and such a unique idea!
Thrilled to hear such positive opinion :) tyvm
This painting is very unique and very detailed! These are incredible works of art. How long do they take to paint? Thank You for sharing these masterpieces.
They are quite small in size, about 10-14 cm in diameter, so I can finish one piece for a couple of days. The whole log took probably a week or two. I paint all simultaneously because the drying periods is what really slows down the process. Glad to answer that question.
Thank You for taking the time to answer my questions. These truly are amazing. Thank You for sharing them.
