Watermelon Painting in Acrylics
When life gives you lemons, grab a watermelon! Summer is almost approaching here in my place its hot and this calls for refreshment that could fill our thirst.
There may also be coconuts, pineapples and other fruits in there but I admit I have so much love for watermelons. Nobody can beat its mouth watering look, its beautiful color, the sweet flesh and juice of this fruit is my all time summer favorite.
In this blog, I'm showing you how I painted these adorable watermelons because why not? These were painted in acrylics and I am showing you these easy steps :)
MATERIALS:
- Painting Pad
- Pencil
- Acrylic Paint
The colors used are the ff:
- White
- Emerald
- Green
- Cadmium Green
- Magenta
- Vermilion
- Burnt Umber
PROCEDURE:
First, I made a sketch of a sliced watermelon
Then I used emerald green for the peel
I mixed white, cadmium green & emerald for the inner part of the peel. This gives a dark to lighter effect of colors to the edge of the fruit.
For the flesh, I mixed white, magenta and vermilion to achieve a light shade of red.
I used burnt umber for the seeds.
I used a white paint for the sides and edges of the flesh to achieve a refreshing and realistic.
That is how I did my watermelon painting! :) I hope you liked it.
