Norwegian Art and Sculptures

Being from the US, I always am amazed by the art here in Oslo, Norway. Its a lot of nudity and attention to the human anatomy. They try to get it right and make it very detailed. This is totally different than what we see in the US. Most of the US statues are clothed.

My favorite sculpture park here in Oslo is Vigeland Park. This is a must see when you are visiting. Its fun to try and re-enact the poses.

Ekeberg Park is also a great place to visit.

Not sure what this is, but I'm guessing somebodies mother would be mad if this was in a park in the United States.

You guessed it. This is a fountain of a woman peeing. My ongoing joke is that they dye the water red once a month. It gets people everytime.

One museum I would not recommend and feel as though I would like my money back, is the Astrup Fearnley museum at Aker Brygge. Don't waste your time or your money on this one.

Here is the only piece of art I actually like in the entire museum. It is a sculpture of Michael Jackson and his monkey Bubbles.

Fun photos - I like the idea of mimicking the poses. Too bad you did not have your monkey with you
