The fictitious GreatHub logosteemCreated with Sketch.

From my spy-occult-political satire comic, Phill from GCHQ. The GreatHub is the British signal intelligence service, GCHQ’s equivalent to GitHub - probably the world's largest development platform. It is on this platform Phill works most of the time. It is first mentioned at page 13.

GCHQ is too serious for the Linus Torvald kind of humour so Git has become Great and the silly Octocat, has been transformed into the mighty, imperial Octolion. It will feature in the next page.

I will clean it up and let it loose as creative commons on my Katharsisdrill profile at a later point. I’m a little busy now. Made with Krita and Inkscape.

The GreatHub logo

To compare you can see the Github logo here. Not my favourite logo, but at least it is weird.

An excellent sigil, it reminds me of Alan Moore's League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - the comic, not the movie! In it, over the course of past & future centuries, the government of the United Kingdom is recruiting secret agents with special powers and/or knowledge of the occult. There are endless references to occult symbolism, steampunk visions and veiled Lovecraftian connections, including a tome of forbidden knowledge, the Black Dossier. Your logo could easily fit in those pages and be a real gem in there!

That is a great comic (and not such a great film). I am inspired of such efforts. It is strangely like it is possible in this time, while it back in the days of the great cinema (1920-1990) was common to indulge in the people-don't-know-anyway-so-let's-do-something-anachronistic. Back in the days of Alexander Dumas they were really careful to mix real history into their novels in a fashion that was believable. I love that period too!

There was something more that stirred in my mind when I saw this logo, but could not put it into words... just a couple of minutes ago though, I had a moment of revelation! This logo is from Scooby Doo, Mystery Inc! :)

Over two seasons the greater plot of the series unfolds: the intelligent parrot named Prof. Perikles, wants to gather the pieces of a long-lost artifact and use it when the stars are right to focus the mystical energies of Nibiru, a planet holding occult significance. With these energies he intends to wake a monstrous entity that has been sleeping imprisoned in the bowels of Earth.
When he finally succeeds, the Evil Entity consumes Prof. Perikles and becomes an amalgamation of parrot, demon and eldritch horror:

You see now?!?

I see indeed. Eldritch horror in Scooby Doo... what do you know!

Love this logo, the design is so nice and well thought out :) Simple, elegant and really fitting * ___ *
