《喜事连连》| Magpies and Persimmons in WATERCOLOR| 齐白石杯· 年

I decided to draw some magpies standing on the persimmon tree this time, to enhance the theme “Spring Festival”. Magpies brings joy and persimmons stands for "things" in Chinese cuz they have the similar pronunciation.
为了迎合@angelina6688 这次齐白石杯“年”的主题，我这次画了一幅《喜事连连》，取喜鹊的喜字和柿子”柿“的谐音。

The backyard of my house has a persimmon three. And I'm not willingly to pick the persimmons. Every day the magpies come to my back yard to be fed even-though it's 14℉ here in Beijing recently. They always bring me good luck. I love them.
我家后院有棵柿子树，而且我今年懒得摘柿子了，就让他们挂在枝头上。每天都会有好多只大蓝喜鹊飞到后原来吃柿子，即便最近北京有-10℃也依然没有缺席。看到这些喜鹊我就觉得我会交好运哈哈。

So this time a got a 2B pencil from a friend as a gift to encourage me to keep on painting. And then she asked me to invite her for a dinner. Not my best deals but whatever, now I added one more thing in my 3 bucks' painting kit.
这次我朋友为了鼓励我画画，送给了我一支2B铅笔。然后威要胁我说礼尚往来要请她吃饭。作为一个资深的爱画画的穷人，我无奈地答应了。但无论如何，我的20元全齐的画具中，又多了支铅笔。

The positive side of adding a pencil is that I can do some sketch now. But as you can see in the photo, I don't have a pencil sharpener. Clever as I am, I grabbed a knife from the kitchen and the result is not bad, regardless the ugly looking of the sharpened pencil.
拥有一支铅笔显而易见的好处是可以打草稿了，问题也随之浮现——我这么穷，怎么可能有铅笔刀。不过活人怎么能让尿憋死，我从厨房找到菜刀来解决问题。虽然削得不好看，但是能用就够了。

过程。

I tried some technique to bring some feather effects to the magpies. I think that's simple enough and really effective.
我做了点简单有效的处理，来增加羽毛的质感，放大点看看哈哈。
