graffiti art for a cafe !

If any of you has been to Jaipur and have really did the research, you might have come across the adventure "balloon safari". It's one of the exclusive thing that Jaipur offer. And as far as I know, It's the only balloon safari company in whole of Rajasthan.

The very company also have a really interesting cafe by the same name as the safari company and that is "Skywaltz". They were launching there new lounge space and hence needed a graffiti done on one of the wall.

Since it was a lounge space, they wanted to keep it black for obvious reason of creating a dark ambiance. And the graffiti idea was to make something out from the space.

The finalized idea was to have an astronaut, smoking up in space and spooking in the earth through a window. Taking few reference images from the net, I combined and created the idea.

This is how it looked like...

The black background was originally white and is made of MDF. It took me around 3-4 hours to paint the background black and another 4-5 hours to sketch the whole thing out there. It was an easy sketch and would hardly take an hour or max two but then , taking the right point, deciding the proportion takes all of the time when you are a beginner.

I always keep the base paint and the drafting part for the first day and mostly starts painting it the second day. Will be sharing the further progress in my upcoming post.
