Gordon Scott – Figurative Realism
Gordon Scott has been a professional artist for 30 years.
Whilst Gordon likes to hide himself in mystery and reclusiveness high up somewhere in the Peak District hills, where he has his private studio, his work can be seen elsewhere, more locally in Stockport and also has regular exhibitions in both Edinburgh and London.
Gordon describes his work as Figurative Realism and is inspired by visionary eroticism, ancient wilderness forests, folklore and myth. He is inspired by the romanticist movement, symbolists, Italian renaissance mannerism and artists such as William Blake and Stanley Spencer.
Some awards Gordon has achieved in his art career:
- Jon Cargill senior award
- Exhibition award at Kelly Gallery, Glasgow
- Highly commended award at the annual open exhibition, Stockport War Memorial and Museum
