Mandala- The Western Universe
Hi guys!^^ Today I will show you how to draw a mandala, or better, how do I draw a mandala.
First at first, a little bit of informations. According to Wikipedia, a mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe. In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.
In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.
Mandala is a circular diagram that accurately keeps a certain symmetry that focuses entirely on a center, with a typical structure dividing the surface into four equal segments.
Honestly, this kind of art fascinates me.I am fascinated by the creativity that man proves. Of corse, the traditional mandalas don't look like the mandals we all know, so I can say that we have modernized them.
Fact: As I said, the mandalas were used at different rituals, so it existed for many times of mandalas such as the mandala of courage, the mandala of love, the mandala of modesty, the mandala of spirituality, etc.
Ok, so to draw a mandala, first at first, we need to make the skecth, as for any other drawing.Of course, you can draw without sketch, but if you are in the beginning, as I am, it will be much easier with sketch, even if it takes more time.In fact, any drawing takes time and patience, so don't hurry.
For sketch, you need to draw circles, more circles. In fact, how many you want. You decide how complicated you want to be your mandala. So you wil draw circles, like that:
It is important that you do not press the pencil very hard on the paper, because after you finish, you will want to delete the sketch, and you do not want to leave marks on the paper, right?
After we finish drawing the circles, we will share the sketch in four equal parts, like this:
Now enter your imagination and creativity into the game. Let yourself be worn. Imported is to have patience, and to make many and small details.
That's what I came out of:
And the last step is to outline the mandala with a black marker, or any color you want, and delete the sketch.
And this is the final result:
Is'nt so hard, right? All you have to do is try. You cant make any mistakes.^^
Another drawing I made in this style is this:
All I had to do was to play with the colors on the paper and after drying I took a marker and I let the prey to the imagination. This drawing is one of the most recent, and maybe even one of the favorites. Maybe it's not spectacular, but it pleases me.
Ok quys, that was all for today. I was Loredana and we'll see you next time.
Bye!!^^
