Bridges of St. Petersburg. The Italian bridge.
Let's return closer to the Nevsky Prospekt, which crosses the Griboedov Canal through the Kazan Bridge, about which I wrote here https://steemit.com/art/@megamax/bridges-of-st-petersburg-the-kazan-bridge
I propose to go back because today I managed to visit this place and take a few pictures of another bridge across the Griboedov channel - the Italian bridge.
The Italian bridge is a pedestrian bridge across the canal. It got its name thanks to the Italian street, which from the embankment of the canal continues from the bridge to the embankment of the Fontanka River.
In 1896, according to the project of architect Kolpitsyn, a one-span wooden bridge was built. The walls for the bridge were the walls of the granite embankments of the canal. In 1902 the bridge was rebuilt according to the project of the architect Karl Valerianovich Baldi. But the bridge stood in this form for a short time and in 1911 - 1912 again it was rebuilt according to the project of the architect Konstantin Vasilyevich Yefimiev.

In 1937, the bridge was rebuilt again and looked like this:
A modern metal single-span bridge with decorative structures and lanterns was built in 1955 by the architect Vladimir Sergeyevich Vasilkovsky.
The Italian bridge is one of the most favored bridges among tourists and guests of St. Petersburg. It is on him and during the daytime that the walking people like to take photographs with a view of the Church of the Savior on Blood and the Kazan Cathedral on Nevsky Prospekt.

Thank you for attention. See you at the bridges of St. Petersburg.
wow awesome article about bridge dear @megamax..
A bridge can still be built while, the bitter waters are flowing beneath..
I learned that a long walk and calm conversation are an incredible combination if you want to build a bridge.
Thanks for sharing a good article with us...

hmm yes it's create such an amazing seen when we are walked on the bridge and get a loot of enjoyment with our friends..
Very good photos! I love history too and it's really interesting to know what happened in the past that resulted to what's in the future. Designs are gorgeous!
Thank you for evaluating my work. Yes, the bridge looks very beautiful, if you look at it without a camera. But in the photographs you can admire the elegance of the bridge design. For me, the most beautiful is the Bank Bridge https://steemit.com/art/@megamax/bridges-of-st-petersburg-bank-bridge
Since 1910 until now ??? Wow... Its very amazing. The worker and the man who resposible when build this bridge is the honesty man. Its different now, when someone who give a project to build, sometimes think the rich first and corrupt. Thanks for sahring us mr @megamax. Iam still hope your journey bring you to indonesia, like I say before to you. God Bless You.
