How to trick the Art World.
As a professional dancer and a indie film director, I've gotten a good taste on how the Art world has been fooled.
Everyday I listen to music.
But it's usually older music, and it's mostly instrumentals.
I don't have to say much about the decline in talent within the music industry, but most people don't see how it carries over into dance, art, and film.
A dancer who spends a few years copying moves from YouTube and has some money to throw behind their marketing - can buy some views and publicity to create the illusion they are most watched and thus are top tier.
They can out sell their classes for all the followers who know no better.
And this leaves the dancers who invented, innovated, and overstand the craft of dance - chasing the next gig.
A movie today needs only to spend a few million for some explosions, a few sexy girls, and a named actor.
An artist no longer needs to create, only copy and reproduce. And maybe throw a few filters on.
How did we get here? Is technology to blame? Have we become to lazy to be creative?
What is art worth to you?
nice pic its art...
I share your sentiment. Some days I cover my eyes and yell silently. That, you can guess.
There is probably more truth than we care to admit in William Faulkner’s observation that, “immature artists copy, great artists steal.”
They should steal more.
To be creative means to be unforgiven ~ Randolph Rope.
