Inktober Day 8 - Burly Girly
I’m doing my best to keep up with the daily drawing #inktober challenge this year. I’m not following prompts, just using the chalk as a good excuse to keep my art muscles flexed. I’m also a day behind at the moment, thanks to Canadian Thanksgiving, but I’m confident I’ll be able to catch up pretty quickly.
Today’s drawing took on a bit of a mind of its own, but those usually turn out to be the most satisfying, so I don’t really mind. It just took a bit longer than I had originally planned. I think it was worth it though. And, I thought, since I went full-on with the ink on this one, it’d fit perfectly with this week’s trial by comics theme.
I drew the whole thing on my iPad, using Procreate. I’m still figuring out all the different tools, and little tricks, but I am definitely getting more comfortable with it.
I did the sketch, using a medium grey tone and the “technical pencil” on the first layer:
And then inked the outline on a second layer, using black “technical pen”, and filled in the curtain with the “recolor” tool.
Then I created a third layer for the crosshatch shading to finish it off.
Here’s a couple of close-ups to show off the details.
Hope you guys like her! I’ve got a pretty big soft spot for the burlesque scene, so I’m fairly certain there will be more sexy ladies making an appearance on my blog. lol
