[ES/EN] ʚ♡ɞ Witchy Challenge 2018 #1: Presentación ❀

I started this year with the lovely @santa-morgana333 and her family, on that day we learnt about this challenge on instagram. So here is my entry for the first day, I’m glad to finally post it since I was away from home.

Originalmente está pensado para gente que directamente practique la magia y se desenvuelva en este mundo. Sin embargo, dado que las dos estamos muy atraídas por el paganismo pero somos lo suficientemente escépticas para no dedicarnos a practicar seriamente dentro de ninguna creencia, decidimos adaptarlo al medio en que nos desenvolvemos mejor: La ilustración.

This is originally made for people who practices magic and make life in occultism world. However since we both are very attracted into paganism but we are skeptical enough for not
fully get into serious practices, we decided to adapt this challenge to a more reachable part of our daily life: Illustration.

Como les dije, a pesar de tener gusto por estudiar ocultismo ocasionalmente, no me dedico a practicarle, pero mi definición de la magia es ”El poder de la voluntad moldeando la realidad”, así que mucho de lo que pueda expresar en este reto no necesariamente serán tópicos meramente ocultistas, sino más bien mi manera de aplicar mi voluntad para moldear mi realidad.

As I told you up there, even though I actually enjoy a lot about learning and studying occultism, I wouldn’t call myself a witch, but I define magic as ”The power of will that shapes reality”, so most of the content I’ll put in this challenge isn’t merely occultism but my way to apply the power of my will to shape the reality I live in.

Dado que el primer día trata sobre presentarte y hablar de ti mismo, algo que aunque ya he hecho en esta plataforma en este post y este otro post, no está de más que me sigan conociendo. Quise comenzar con un autoretrato en este estilo que es el que estoy desarrollando más ultimamente, usando marcadores, que son algo así como mi nueva obsesión para ilustrar. Tenía muchos días queriendo hacer infografías, que es uno de mis métodos favoritos para explicar o mostrar cosas. Lo hice en inglés, dado que es el idioma que más uso en mis publicaciones de instagram. Sin embargo les transcribiré el contenido al pie de la ilustración ya terminada.

Since the first day is about introducing yourself to the ones who read you, and that is something I have made before on this platform I decided to give you more personal details about me despite I already made this post and this other post. I wanted to start with a selfportrait in this style, which is the one I’m currently using for most of my illustrations, using different markers, which are my current obsession to paint right now. I had so many days wanting to make infographics, the method I like the most when I’m showing or explaining something. I’ll leave a translation in my native language (spanish) below the finished illustration.

Comencemos con el proceso:

Let’s start with the process

Comienza como normalmente, un boceto a lapiz. Dado que usé un lápiz H porque no quería hacer trazos muy oscuros, al momento de sacar fotos la cámara no captaba las líneas. Así que me saltaré esa foto y les mostraré el primer delineado que fui trazando, tanto de la ilustración como de los datos personales a la derecha.

It started as usual, with a sketch on graphite pencil, however, I used an H pencil because I wanted light lines to avoid messing up the paper, but when I tried to take pictures, the camera could not detect any lines. So I’ll skip this step and get into line tracing. Both drawing and personal data were made with markers.

Seguidamente comencé a rellenar cada área. Usé color sólido y algo de entramado, con marcadores de distinto color y grosor.

Then I started filling every part with solid colour filling or lineworks. I used several types of marker.

El proceso requirió paciencia, pero el resultado final me gustó. También logré una pequeña meta que me había propuesto: Hacer una pose fluida y que luciese natural.

This process required patience but I really liked the final result. I also achieved a small goal I setted for this drawing: A natural flowing pose.
