One Day in Neuschwanstein Castle
Now here’s the honest truth: If I could live my life like a Disney movie, I would not. When I was a child, I never felt an attraction for princess’s, my fairy Godmother would never exist. But it does not mean I do not like castles, I love their stories and magical architectures, which are all gems.
Neuschwanstein Castle has been on my bucket list since I’ve lived in germany!
So, This visit was very, very exciting. We know Neuschwanstein is a big tourist attraction in Germany, number one in fact over 61,000,00 people.
I planned our visit in fall for the tree colors. What an excellent idea that turned out to be. Nothing can really prepare you for the beauty of this Castle in the autumn.
So the first thing to note for your visit, arrive at the castle as early as possible. We arrived at 9:00 a.m when they opened and were able to purchase our tickets. we were lucky! Its advised to reserve your tickets well in advance, in the summer this is better option.
I should say that when my husband and I were coming down from the castle at around 1pm, the lines for the ticket office were crazy, and so you really want to get there as early as possible. If you don’t reserve your ticket in advance
The walk up to Neuschwanstein follows a winding road and takes about 45 – 50 minutes. There is a carriage you can rent, and cars take people who might not be able to walk the distance. But, we love to walk and enjoy the scenery.
Ready for a bit of history? Here’s a quick run-down of the magical castle, which inspired Disney’s famous Cinderella Castle.
Meant to be a place of escape and recluse, Neuschwanstein was built in the 19th century for the eccentric and mysterious Ludwig II, “Mad King.” The king was obsessed with creating the perfect Castle of his dreams, which sometimes led him to be known as the “Fairytail King” and so the King decided on the picturesque setting of the Bavarian Alps to make his grandest fantasies come true. Sadly, Ludwig II never got his happily ever after. He died in 1886, before the Castle could be completed. A few weeks after his death, the Bavarian Government opened the castle to the public as a museum
After the tour, I wanted to go in search of that best shot of the castle, that perfect picture. To get this, you take a 10 minute walk to Marienbrücke (Mary’s bridge), this bridge was full of tourists, there was no room for not even one more person, but you know how persistent I am and needed to go my way.
After walking on a slippery mountain caused by the morning rain we reached the top. There the Castle posed, at its best angle for our viewing, surrounded by the bright colorful early autumn trees that evoked the romanticism of the crazy king.
Know Before You Go
TOURING THE INSIDE: The Neuschwanstein Castle interior can only be visited with a guided tour, that lasts around 45 minutes. These tours have limited spots and are booked based on a time slot. Cost-wise, it is € 13.00 for adults.
TIP: To save time on the day-of and to guarantee your tour inside Neuschwanstein Castle, you can buy your Neuschwanstein tickets online until 2 days before your visit
(though no later than 3:00 p.m German time).
WHAT TO WEAR: You’ll be doing quite a bit of walking, so bring comfortable shoes,Check the weather before you head out.
PICK A LESS BUSY DAY TO GO.
The Disney-esque beauty of Neuschwanstein has one major downside: it is a magnet for big tour groups and travellers from all around the world.

UN DIA EN EL CASTILLO DE NEUSCHWANSTEIN
Ahora seré completamente honesta con ustedes : Si pudiera vivir mi vida como en una película de Disney, no lo haría. Cuando yo era una niña, nunca sentí gran atracción por las princesas y mi hada madrina nunca existió.
Pero, esto no significa que no me gustan los castillos, me encantan sus historias y arquitecturas mágicas, que son joyas únicas y cautivantes.
El castillo de Neuschwanstein, ha estado en mi lista de lugares por visitar desde que supe que viviría en Alemania. Así que, Les puedo decir que esta visita fue muy, muy emocionante.
Neuschwanstein es una gran atracción turística, Número uno de hecho, 6.000.000.millones de personas promedio.
Planeé nuestra visita en otoño por los colores de los árboles, ¡Qué excelente idea resultó ser! Nada puede realmente compararse para la belleza de este castillo en el otoño. Wow!
Por lo tanto, lo primero que hay que tener en cuenta, la clave es llegar al castillo lo antes posible, arribamos a las 9.00am, exactamente cuando abren para comprar nuestros boletos, también puedes reservar tus entradas con mucha antelación, probablemente en verano es mejor esta opción.
Debo decir que cuando mi esposo y yo estábamos bajando del castillo alrededor de las 1 pm, la cola para la taquilla era una locura.
El paseo hasta Neuschwanstein tiene una duración alrededor de 45 – 50 minutos, También puedes subir en un carruaje de caballos.
A mi esposo y a mi, nos encanta caminar y disfrutar del paisaje.
¿Listos para un poco de historia? Aquí está una rápida historia del castillo mágico, que inspiró la famosa ciudadela de Disney.
Construido en el siglo XIX para el excéntrico y misterioso “Rey Loco”, Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein estaba destinado a ser un lugar de escape y descanso. Después del tour, fui a explorar en busca de la mejor foto del castillo. Para conseguir esto, se toma un paseo de 10 minutos a Marienbrücke (puente de María), Este puente estaba colmado de turistas, no había espacio para pasar, pero sabes lo persistente que soy y necesitaba cruzarlo y asi llegar a una montaña resbalosa, por que la mañana estuvo lluviosa,cuando llegamos la cima , una gran recompensa esperaba por nosotros, allí, el castillo posaba en su mejor ángulo para nuestras cámaras, rodeado de árboles otoñales que evocaban el romanticismo de rey loco.

Tips antes de Ir
Tour Interior: El interior del castillo de Neuschwanstein sólo se puede hacer con una visita guiada que dura unos 45 minutos. Estas excursiones tienen puntos limitados y en cuanto a los costes, es de 13 € para los adultos.
Sugerencia: Para ahorrar tiempo en el día-y para garantizar su viaje dentro del Castillo de Neuschwanstein, usted puede comprar sus entradas de Neuschwanstein online hasta 2 días antes de su visita (aunque no más tarde de las 3:00 p.m hora alemana).
