Illustration || Peacock
Hello, today I want to share my latest illustration of animals, this time I bring you a peacock. This bird is known for the range of beautiful and striking feathers that males have to court the female.
It is native to India, being this the national bird of the country. The feathers of the males are particularly colorful to be their defense weapon and to attract the attention of the females, performing a sensual dance at the time of mating. In the case of the plumage of the females and the young they are of a more dull color. This bird is not monogamous, the male can have 6 couples in his life.
Symbolically this bird refers to vanity, beauty, wisdom and glory. In India it is associated with the god of war Kartikeya and the goddess of benevolence, Lakshmi.
