Self portrait drawing proces in 5 steps
In principle, drawings need little text and explanation, simply because they stand on their own ... function autonomously.
With sketching, words aren't necessary at all since this is rather a formal investigation, being; line, shape, structure, composition, etc ...
People who have already followed me know that my drawings have been constructed using the hatch technique ... a slow process that is built up line by line. Which gives me the possibility to apply direct gradations (from light to dark or vice versa) and it contributes to the formation of structures (skin, glas, wood, ...).
Aspects that seem very logical to me because I have been working with this mode for years, but I can also imagine that it's not always clear to everyone. So... if you have any questions ... Just shoot!

Hello @juliawilliams and thank you for your kind comment.
It 's true that I don't post so much and that has everything to do with the fact that I only blog when I have something to share. In my case that is mainly drawings and they require the necessary time to make them (3 to 4 weeks).
I am happy to read that you are looking forward to new drawings, but I am afraid you will have to be patient with me. So, when I'm ready, you'll see it appear automatically.
All the best and thanks again for your comment.
Warm regards!

Thanks but I am yet a beginner and not a pro like you. Looking forward to more of your sketches. :)
Wow your drawing has so much life- the hatching lends a sense of movement to the piece. I've never tried hatching- tempted to have a play with it now that I've seen it used so effectively! Really inspiring- looking forward to following more of your work. E x
Thanks for your comment @eveningart and I'm happy I 'm inspiring you with my post.
Good luck and a lot of fun for your first hatching drawing... Looking forward to see some result.

Thank you @zpzn!
i like your draw
Thank you @mizar05
I had the doubt of how that kind of shading is done. It seemed to me something that was very complicated to achieve but thanks to your tutorial I understand better how is the process. You made a very complete post. Greetings.
Not that complicated as you can see for yourself... and In addition to the technique, practice is the most important key, as with everything...
Glad I can be at service and thank you for your reaction.
Regards.
