RE: 🎨 "Heavy Metal" - a not so heavy way to frame a painting

in #art7 years ago

Yes, Aphrodite was seaborn :)

Oops! I guess I should consult a shrink fafter my interpretation :P
This woman's life sounds really tragic. I could not tell it was a ring from this picture. The details look so much better in the original post. For some reason I love her golden hair!

I had my focus on the frames in this post, so yes, a lot of detail from the artwork gets lost. Stupid me takes it for granted, that everyone knows my paintings the way I do... that's why I thought later, it might be a good idea to add the links.

You obviously found it. Yes, very tragic story. Her hair was one thing she was really famous for, but it also played a role in her dreadful end. When they murdered her in the river Danube, it turned out, that she knew how to swim. The evil duke ordered a helper to take a long stick, entangle it in he hair and push her under water...

I did a large artwork (3x4m) on her life when I was very young, consisting of more than 30 individual paintings. I need to get some decent photos and maybe make a post of it. The central painting shows that terrible end. But she held on to her to the last moment...

Her story definitely needs a Steemit tribute.
It is just sad how barbaric people can be. And how people lost their lives just because others had the power to take it away.

I would love to see the complete artwork and I'm sure I won't be the only one!! :)

Of course, I agree with you and I will make the post sometime soon. Plus I think things haven't really changed. If you are in the way of those in power, they will find a way to get rid of you... maybe the methods are a bit different :-/
