RE: Original pencil drawings
Thank you very much @scrawly! It's always hard to part with them so I always make sure I sell it to the right person. But the few originals I sold so far I still know where they are and I know they are maybe more safe than at my place. There are a lot of works I can't sell (usually some kind of milestones in my journey) and all my walls are full :D But the idea of selling the original was a slow process before I could but knowing someone pays for it to hang it really gives a boost! And when I would regret I would tell myself I will keep on creating and make it better next time :D
I really could use the money to invest in prints or other things. I don't rely on income from art yet having a parttime dayjob to pay rent etc. otherwise I probably get forced to create more mainstream art which sells better....I hope one day I can survive on art and draw weird stuff every day for a living :D but that's just a dream
I can understand and relate well with your dream. I don't like doing mainstream art either, because for me art is something personal, which makes it difficult to be a professional artist.
And I think it's good that you keep the ones most precious to you, who knows maybe their value would appreciate over time and you can make better profit later on if you decide to part with some of them :).
True you don't want to end up creating only what will sell. Steemit feels like it is possible to make a living without the selling. I wonder if I ever get there...
Yeah often they feel like some kind of milestones or trophies I can look at and think that I'm not that bad. Doing more digital works I don't have any originals anymore...
