Hamish In Memory- Part 4- What Frightened Him.
Hamish was fearless in many ways. He didn't fear the cat or big dogs...he just wanted to play and he never was concerned about the concequences of peeing up the washing basket, pooping in the street or barking at the postman as you would have seen from other memories.
No he was very confident in himself apart from two little things.
The Traffic cone
We had to cross the road or shimmy like a crab to pass any in the street or literally we would pick him up making sure he faced the other way. Strange behaviour I know.
The other thing is the hand. It started of as a it of fun. If you have watched Liar Liar, you will get it. It's basically your hand that you pull out of your pocket and it turns into a monster.
Now whenever I did it, it never got a reaction but when my husband did it Hamish would go into complete meltdown. He would howl and shake like a leaf with his ears down.
My Hamish had such a strange and wonderful character and creating these pictures is helping me to keep him here with me. If you are grieving for a pet or a loved one I suggest you try the same.
It helps me.
What a very special way of paying tribute to your loved Hamish. Very special indeed!
Thank you lovely. It helps me and I hope it inspires someone to find away to cope. Pet bereavement is very real :-)
That is so very true. Sometimes I think that people who don't have pets dont really understand that the pain of losing a loved pet is equally s hard as losing a family member. I have only got two cats as our place is not really suited to having any dogs, but one of the cats (kaya) is 17 years old now and his age is really starting to show. He basically just sleeps all the time now and I often go up to check if he is still breathing because he sleeps for so long. I DREAD the day that he passes as he has been with me for a massive chink of my life... and even though he is a grumpy old man now... he is still my baby!!!
Yes , I get that my Hamish was 11 and started to get tired, we thought it was age but it was a tumour it all happen so quick. Seeing him turn go grey and getting old filled me with dread. Do me a favour if anything happens to your pet comment on any post of mine and I will help you as much as I can. Its an awful thing to happen. Fingers crossed he has a good few years left
That is so very tragic! :( Life can be so harsh sometimes... and thank you for the lovely gesture. Yes, I pray that he has a few more good years in him, but I will remember your kind words and wonderful gesture. Thank you so very much. I hope that your pain lessens swiftly too. Much love to you xxx
You are very fond of her, good post.
