Painting flowers

I first got into painting at a very young age. As I was growing up I see different artworks coming to our house made by different Filipino painters. I actually came from a family of artist at least in my mother’s side of the family. My mom Vicky is somewhat respected figure in the art community she often-organized show for various noted contemporary painters in her time in the Philippines. She was also my mentor in life and in art. My mom will always tell me as an artist your job is to document the beauty of things that you see.

We are historians our job is to show how wonderful the world is. My mom loves things that are beautiful she would often tell me “You should paint flowers every great artist painted flowers”. Like the good son that I am, I always obliged. She passed away 3 years ago.

Last year I client commissioned me to make painting for his wife as birthday present he said I want my wife to wake up to bunch of flowers.

This is an 8ft x3ft Canvas

My inspiration while doing this is my mom.

So now every flowers that I paint is for her.
