Bellower Album Cover- Original Design- Sarah Kinne- Fine Art- A week in the making-with @Big-Lou
This past week, I had the pleasure of creating an album cover image & working with @Big-Lou and his metal band, Bellower, which includes other very talented musicians. Collaborations Are so fun, and also very important for artists to grow and learn, as I have mentioned before.
This original piece is graphite, archival ink, watercolor on cold press paper, approximately 4" by 4".
The album cover image is based on a song written by @Big-Lou, the song included a lot of interesting surreal demonic, supernatural subject matter. So, the central focus in the image is a Demonic Moose, erupting through a great abyss. Please interpret and perceive as you wish!
The original piece started and ended on the same piece of paper, with pencil, ink and watercolor.
Here is the final 4" by 4" by itself....
AND transformed into the Album Cover!
Here we are together, just the final sketch and me. I think the origins of an image, the initial marks on the first piece of paper, become the core of the image and wanted everything from start to finish on the same surface. It provides visual synergy.
Below is the documented process,
Day one: Sketching and Smudging!
Day 2:Lines and Inking with .003 mm fine line black pen!
Days 3-4, Serious fun.
Days 5-7 the home stretch adding color and depth and thoroughly enjoying.... one line and brush stroke at a time.
This Past weekend there was true Collaboration with @Big-Lou himself, creating the final image that will be used for the album cover. This included some adjustments to color and the inclusion of the Bellower Logo, lots and lots of credit goes to Big-Lou in this stage. Thank you!
Here is the final product! Bellower is recording an album and has shows in April, which I am very much looking forward to seeing. They are incredibly talented musicians and artists!

that is very impressive!! major Kudos... I know this is not at all what lou had in mind... but to me it looks like the protector of the forest... like, one of those japanese spirits...
Thank you, I think sometimes we don't know what we have in our minds until it is right in front of us :)
Awesome job! Sounds like @big-lou is super happy with this and I love the result as well - very dark and foreboding, love how the moose diety melds into the landscape :)
Much love - Carl
