March Art Madness | Promote Steemit on Social Media | $500+ Prize Pool

in #art7 years ago (edited)

During the classic Renaissance period, creatives, in combination with the entrepreneurial doers they associated with, played a key role to make incredible advances. But, how often, in the modern world—due to pressures such as the bottom line—have institutions completely missed such opportunity to benefit society. Recurrently, people lost the benefits that visionaries’ could have provided. And artists’ works only generated substantial earnings, long after the creatives themselves passed away?

Blockchain technology and decentralization provide a "Renaissance" like opportunity today. The Steemit platform has the potential to revolutionize how creativity and innovation serve the world for good. In harmony with our concepts here at State of the Arts, we seek to further harness Steemit's potential for all.

Without further adieu we introduce our March-Art Madness. On top of what Steemit already distributes for successful entry posts, we sweeten the pot with an additional $500 prize pool. We do this as an incentive to promote and build the community on Steemit as well as have a fun contest. For the external communities outside of Steemit, they learn of the potential here and they see what people are ACTUALLY accomplishing already.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

(Also, make sure you're following @stateofthearts)

  • First of all, "like", comment, and resteem this post
  • Then, with any form of art (video, performance, multimedia, photography, music, design, etc.) use the tag #stateofthearts, and simply attach your art to a comment below on this thread feed @stateofthearts. All submissions for the incentive will be chosen from art on #stateofthearts curation trail and attached below to this thread feed here at @stateofthearts.

Finally, in order to be considered for placing in the top ten, you MUST do the following during the month of March

  • Share this post and talk about (promote) steemit and/or use your art (by doing something creative with it) to promote steemit on at least one form of social media (instagram/twitter/facebook/etsy/youtube etc)
  • Then (at some point before deadline) post a "Reply" to your art below and provide a link showing you shared this post on at least one other social media platform
  • Your substantive comments, up-votes, and activity on @stateofthearts won't hurt either

$500+ Prize Pool

Again, on top of what Steemit already offers, we sweeten the pot with an additional $500 into the prize pool! Also 50% of all Steem Dollars earned on all March-Art Madness posts this month will be added to the prize pool! (50% goes to steemcash, 50% to steempower for promotions). From that, here is the contest specific breakdown.

  • 1st place $200 (+50% of those Steem Dollars)
  • 2nd Place $100 (+25% of those Steem Dollars)
  • 3-10th Place $25 (+25% of those Steem Dollars)

What Are We Looking For

Top 10 will be chosen based off creativity, craft, activity in the community, support of other artists, and dedication to spreading the Steemit platform.

  • PROMOTE STEEMIT! Simple as that!
  • Not required, but for bonus points, come up with a way to use your creativity within your artwork/performance/video/etc. to help promote steemit in some form!

We will be very active on the feed, be active as well! Comment on your fellow artists posts, be engaged, encourage and uplift the community. We as early adopters will create the greatest decentralized artist community on social media!

Winners will be announced at the end of March. We will feature, resteem, and upvote contestants all month long. Have fun and help art followers, creative communities, and entrepreneurial doers--people involved in every art form--learn about the power of Steemit! (video, performance, multimedia, photography, music, design, etc.).

wow great contest

Today is my first day here, only 3hours in and I'm already hooked!
Facebook can suck on a sweaty ballsack, because it's one thing to share your intellectual property for 'likes' and a completely different ballgame to do it in a way that empowers you and others. This place is awesome, and i'm excited to be here. Lets take back the internet and next the world!!!! Muahahahaha! X3

#stateofthearts
hope its not too soon to do this but here's my first submission,

one ascendedmonkey just drawing another, like monkey-ception.... or something...

Lord Hanuman, painted on cloth with acrylic paints and oil pastels. Funny enough, I finished this piece while I was waiting for my Steemit account confirmation. Spooky.
hope y'all loike it @stateofthearts :3
March is also my birthday month so hell's bells yeah! Let's do this!@_@

Now in the process of selecting finalists, see March Art Madness link below for tips and details.

Genius for you to get off and running like this.

If you wish, you can post more entries (limit 10) during the month if you wish to work on them. Now, at some point when you're ready, remember to provide a link here to at least one centralized social media platform where you promoted steemit.

You may even use your image to do it. For instance, that story related to this pic is great--as it ties back to steemit in an interesting way. Awesome start.

I created a post giving the extended back story of my piece and shared it to an art group I'm a member of on fb. I hope this works :)

@stateofthearts Rainbows and barn owls. Old work but this piece is what pushed my career in the right direction. Also made a timelapse video of it's creation but not sure how to share it here. This would be my first contest on Steemit #stateoftheartsphotostudio_1520076926594.jpg

excelente trabajo hombre, eres un genio

Very interesting and beautiful work and entry. @jonatftforest, if you want to post the timelapse video to your site, we'll resteem it here on the stateofthearts feed for March Art Madness.

Thank you, do I upload it directly or can I share from my YouTube? Still figuring things out here

Yes, that would work. Load it directly to @jonatftforest (we didn't find it on your site yet). Tag it with stateofthearts. We can resteem from there. That should do the trick. You can also provide a link to youtube here/there if you want to. That way you can cross-connect media for added exposure.

@stateofthearts thanks again, here's the YouTube link. Can upload the video directly when I get home. Will make sure to tag.

sinceramente tienes mi voto

Now just remember to add something over there on at least one centralized platform (like YouTube) which helps people learn of and promotes about steemit. And you'll be well on your way.

I can do that, sharing this post amongst my chainsaw artist friends on Facebook will work, correct?

Probably several ways to do it. If you haven't done it already, load it directly to @jonatftforest. They can resteem from there. How about that?

Well, it doesn't promote Steemit in anyway but I still wanted to have something to offer. I hope to be able to create something in the near future that meets the contest expectations.

sigo opinando que se ve sexy

Beautiful drawing @ryunamist. Maybe when you post it to a centralized platform, you can say something like, "Do you feel chained to..." When you get to that point, be sure and add a reply to your entry that shows what you did. You can also provide a link there for inviting friends and followers to try to to support your contest efforts here on steemit.

Yep, that's a good idea. Thank you :)

@stateoftheart this was actually one of ny entries for steemit open mic I hope you appreciate the work I put in #stateoftheart
.....

What a fantastic initiative, I love it and would be proud to be part of it. I already follow you and have upvoted and resteemed this post. Plus I have shared this post to very nearly 7000 people on Twitter. You can check this by looking at my twitter feed which is @Reptoid_Hunter

Further to this, when I create videos now I put a graphic on which states my steemit address in the hope to bring attention to steemit for those who have not heard of it.

Oh and may I share with you my latest time lapse painting video?

Many thanks and peace!

Very cool!

You've already won a spot or two as a Weekly Art Challenge finalist, @libramedia. Good luck on this incentive.

Wow I'm honoured, thank you so much!
