Skulls on the Blockchain - [Art]
After having worked on Norgrous of Steem-Vale for the last several days, I decided to mix it up and try drawing other stuff. Today, I decided to try to draw a skull on Photoshop using a very old Wacom/Cintiq Drawing Tablet. After having used a mouse to paint my original pencil drawing of Norgrous, using this drawing tablet is so much nicer. Although the other day I was at the Apple store, and while I waited I played around with one of the new Ipad Pro's with the Apple Pencil. Those two together making for an amazing drawing experience making the Wacom feel so old and obsolete.
On this drawing practice, I decide to go with a simple skull in a semi-profile position. This ads a bit of a challenge because you no longer have symmetry as when drawing a frontal, and you don't have the "flatness" of a straight profile position. I used photoshop using only two layers. The bottom layer was all black, and the layer on top was where I would paint in white or erase. I usually had my paint brushes and the eraser with the flow or output as much less than 100%.
I need to learn how to create different brushes in photoshop, but since I am not on my personal computer and am seriously considering an Ipad Pro with Pencil, I don't feel like creating these brushes only to not use them. In the meantime, here are a couple of screen shots of how it started. I am thinking of now trying to draw the face that would go over this skull. Since I am no forensic scientist nor an artist, and this will be my first trying to layer a face over a skull, this should be interesting.
First I start with a cross so I can find my center,
and then a rough outline
Once the outline is close, I begin to outline more details
and then start either painting or erasing
Full Steem Ahead!

Hi @streetstyle i think it was a good job, i mean the design is well made maybe you can improve son lines i mean smooth line because in the holes where are the eyes the lines are too much strong, i think i could explain what i want to say hehehe. Regards
I know what you mean @dim753 Thanks for the input....
Hello, what a wonderful art, congratulations, excellent work, very professional.
Wicked Skull dude! I don't know how to do any digital art. I love seeing the process involved. Wow, Great job man!
Thanks @hendrix22 Using photoshop is so forgiving that it makes it a lot easier than pencil and paper. I wish I had used this type of tech. sooner for art because there is so much to learn.
I guess it's never to late to get started though. I should probably start learning it myself. There have been so many situations over the years where these skills would have been prefect for me! Company logos etc...
yeah never too late that is for sure @hendrix22
Great friend I have never drawn in Photoshop, so I do not know how the procedure is, however, for me it has been pretty good. I guess that each stroke must have quite firmness and detail.
With regard to the brushes you could go practicing and go having some sketches or some tests to go taking some idea.
Amazing digital art!
I'll follow you, and I will be happy if you follow to my blog. I hope we will be friends;)
your drawing skills are just getting more better i can't draw a simple sketch hahah
photoshop helps a lot @blazing but thank you much!
Wow cool stuff man! I love how artwork gets a lot of attention here on Steemit. Well deserved, Yall people are really talented no doubt!
Thanks @kid4life .... I am most just a doodler / hobbyist but there are some truly amazing artists on here, and more will come as time goes by. Especially when posting on Instagram gets you followers and fame/notoriety but with Steemit, you get something you can actually use and convert into FOOD, which most Starving artist will certainly appreciate. Times are a changing @kid4life and we already have our seats for this rocketship!!
