The Artist Known As Scarab

in #art8 years ago

The way we interact with the world is mostly as an individual with a me versus everyone else mentality. It's this capitalistic competition that has made some countries very wealthy and technologically advanced while others have struggled to keep up. The problem with this is that only a few at the top become very wealthy while doing very little of the actual work. But what if we could remain within this democratic environment yet still work together as a whole while NOT becoming a socialist or communist system? Using blockchain applications The Scarab Experiment (http://thescarabexperiment.org) seeks to answer these questions through a strategic and purposeful attempt at creating a shared artist persona that anyone can participate in. Most businesses run from a top down model where there's a CEO in charge and everyone else downward earns less and contributes a variable amount. With The Scarab Experiment there will be no CEO and the participants are rewarded based on their contribution which expands and benefits the whole Scarab Community.

Artists will work together to achieve success in the form of finances, exhibits, promotions and of course art. The idea is that instead of an artist becoming famous or wealthy on their own, a large group of artists can work together to achieve that fame and fortune. The Scarab Experiment is the world's first artist persona that anyone can become. The process is transparent and encrypted using the bitcoin blockchain technology through the Counterparty platform. There were 100,000 Scarab Tokens created which act as membership into the community and enable the holder to participate in votes and artwork submission. Scarab will produce 50 artworks in whatever span it takes for the community to approve 50 pieces, which can be created in any medium. Each approved artwork will reward the artist creator with 1,000 Scarab Tokens. You can get Scarab Tokens now by going to http://www.thescarabexperiment.org/scarab-tokens.html
