A REALIZED REQUEST OF MY SISTER
HELLO EVERYONE!
Twelve days have passed! Twelve days of silence on my steemit. Sigh. I regret the days. I could have done some worthy blogs. Yeah I was busy that I didn't notice. Our evaluation at work made me cram and release a lot of adrenaline from my body. It actually exhausted the energy inside of me. I miss steemit.
I know SBD isn't that good this time but it's not an excuse not to compose a blog about anything under the sun. Yeah I got tired and uninspired knowing how I put efforts on my arts but only few notice it. I wonder when will this steemit drought be submerged again by waters.
Anyway, lately my sister went on a short vacation from her internship (Physical Theraphy) at Manila and requested me to make her a postgan (poster -slogan) on the Bible verse Luke 1:37. My sweet and psycho sister has this subjugating charm to do whatever she tells you to do. So, I made her what she wanted.
She is now on her fifth year and everything goes so serious about her internship far from us and to her board exam preparation. She maybe feels pressured that's why she wants to be reminded of her faith and trust the Divine creator's plan that she can do anything with God.
So this is how I made her request. Please feel free to read my blog and I assure you a simple but meaningful output that you can do on your own as this blog is crafted to lead you and inspire you to appreciate and do arts on your own.
MATERIALS
- pallete
- pair of scissors
- cup of water
- foot rule
- number 2 Mongol pencil with eraser
- brush
- watercolors
- Sharpie premanent marker
- 0.8 Uni pin fine line
- 0.5 Pigma Micron
- white water color paper
- 8"x10" frame
PROCEDURE
1.) I don't have an 8"x10" water color that will fit on the frame so I used the back cover of the frame to trace the size by putting it flat against the paper and marked its sides wih pencil.
2.) I cut the traced paper with scissors.
3.) Then I used the footrule to mark my draft to the center. I made the draft not too dark so I could easily erase it.
4.) Before I inked the draft calligraphy, I painted butterflies of different sizes and colors on the outside area of "GOD" to emphasize its importance as the center of the piece. The colors I used for the butterflies were Prinary Red Cadmium, Primary Lemon Yellow, English Light Green, Cobalt Violet Imit, Cerulean Blue Imit, and Alizarine Crimson. Choosing colors will give you a pleasant outcome if you do it correctly with regard to the personality of the receiver.
5.) I used the 0.5 Pigma Micron pen to ink the draft. I usually use thinner point at first before the thick ones.
6.)After I put first layer ink on the draft, I let it dry for vouple of minutes then I erased the pencil marks lightly so I won't mess up with the ink.
7.) I did a simple corner decoration by watercolor blotting. A technique I use whenever my intention is to give life to the excess spaces. I used the colors same as what I used on the butterflies.
I painted small and big circles around the calligraphy to make it seem unconcious art. I put ample water on the brush so the color would look lighter and able to be superseded by other colors.
I did the blotting per color so it would clean and done. After every colors I took some minutes to, dry it too.
8.) When it was dry already, I picked up the 0.8 Uni pin fine line to double the stroke I made before.
9.) I then grabbed the marker and thickened some parts of my calligraphy. My technique here was, I used the 0.8 Uni pin fine pen to mark the parts that needed to be shaded by the permanent marker. I used marker to save time and ink. Lol
IT'S DONE!
I put it in a frame to make it more flamboyant!
Here's the final output! My sister definitely loved it. I hope you too will like this simple but meaningful art I crafted. Go and grab your thngs and start your own pride.
