Go inside Exeter Cathedral
Exeter Cathedral. I have always been fascinated by old architecture and this place is absolutely breathtaking. The design outside, inside, the stain glass windows, and the ceiling- every bit of it is just breathtaking. The founding of the Cathedral at Exeter dates back to 1050. The initial foundation was in 1133 and was of Norman style then later redecorated Gothic style. It was completed in 1400.

Some notable features of the interior include the misericords, the minstrels' gallery, the astronomical clock, the organ, and the longest uninterrupted vaulted ceiling in England. Notable architectural features of the interior include the multi-ribbed ceiling and the compound piers in the nave arcade. The fifty misericords are the earliest in the UK and date back to 1220. One of the earliest known depicts is a wooden representation of an elephant.
I can see why this architectural design has stood the test of time. It is a tribute of skill, design, craftsmanship, and creativity. It has stood for over 900 years and is appreciated today as much as it was then. It is considered one of England’s most beautiful medieval cathedrals and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in the world.
I highly recommend looking it up and seeing some of the pictures for yourself.
