I don't know what Art is... and you?

Once in a movie, I heard something very real "A person can change, but it will never change their passion", at that moment I understood passion as your energy to live, your deepest inspiration or what makes you lose your head, that passion can be a sport, science, social movement, horse race or maybe Art, but, What is Art?

According to the Spanish academy, art is the manifestation of human activity through which the real is interpreted or what is imagined is expressed with plastic, linguistic or sound resources. This definition describes very well the ways in which we can make art, but how something so useless can become one of the vital things of humanity, is it really useless?

Many people see art as aesthetic elements and therefore elements without any really useful function within humanity, it may sound quite true but when we see the history of the human being, in any time and place, we realize that art was present and the most beautiful architectural spaces destined to the most important functions (religious, governmental) were decorated with the most beautiful pieces of art, besides, today there are huge museums considered as the most important containers of human history and human value, where they exhibit a lot of artistic pieces for which any rich person would give a great amount of money just to place them in the living room of his house.

With all this summary I just want to imply that history tells us that, art is very important but I really do not understand why, I only understand what I have lived through my own experience, if you have learned to love art, then you will understand that it is the only one who can cleanse our mind and touch the purest values of human beings but above all, art and only art can make us flourish the most beautiful thing of being human.
