'The Imperfect Scope of Imperfection'
The circle is a symbol of perfection, wholeness and oneness, all of which can go together toward the same meaning. But, it also symbolizes zero in mathematics, as - nothingness. A very interesting thing, really. Why would a symbol of wholeness also symbolize nothingness? Weren't we creative enough in the roots of history or is there a deeper reason for this? Is there some breathtaking story behind it? This photograph is a celebration of that untold story.
I don't believe in perfection. Not in our realm at least. I believe many of my photographs speak in favour of that fact. Perfection is fake and untrue. Running after it is like chasing a rainbow. Therefore, I spend time in removing the perfection from my photos, rather than looking to achieve it. I think that by achieving imperfection, works of art become perfect. A conundrum, yes! :D I think that perfection can be reached only in thoughts, in ideals, in beliefs. Nothing is perfect, neither is meant to be perfect in the material world. Therefore, it doesn't matter which camera you use. Any is just as good. The art, nor the beauty, are in the camera. They are in the eye of the beholder. Much like love.
The colours of the circle are strong, saturated, and set in a weird but still quite balanced combination of magenta, red, blue and some little green/yellow. I chose this colour scheme because I wanted to emphasize the conundrum. And of course, the imperfection. The imperfections, leading the eye and defining the space, are important in creating the feeling, as much as colours. The blue creek behind it symbolizes the motion of time in life. It is like a life seen through the imperfect scope of perfection. The green beautifully tries to match the magenta but fails. But, the blue comes to help out immensely and the balance is almost achieved. Tonality also helps a lot. Imperfect balance but still a balance.
Then again the duality of the symbol might mean: "If you got nothing, you got nothing to lose - therefore you are free to be whole just as you are." :D
Enjoy! :)

Circle means nothingness because is the potential: everything can happen, averything can be. Is the recipient were light can be received. How can someone receive if their recipient is already full? The circle symbolize the idea of the continous flow of giving and receiving, that is why the circle is everything and nothing at the same time. Some of this concept comes from Kabalah.
For perfection, it exist in authenticity. Perfection is not "being technically or socially correct" being very clean and neat, or exactly following some academic rules. Actually imperfect things don't exist. As I see it, imperfection is the true illusion, as things are just the way they are, and the way they are is the best way they could have been. Perfection is in authenticity, when the things you do are inspired by your true spirit. When you let your inner self talk, then there is perfection, despite the mistakes.
By the way, there are no mistakes, there are no bad colors, there are no wrong musical notes, all of this are judgements of our mind, our ego, that says something is or not perfect. The aeternal perfectibility of Rousseau doesn't mean we need to seek to be perfect, it means we need to seek to be a better version of ourselves each day.
Very nice addition to a good post.
The Latin shows us perfection is that which has been "thoroughly made" - so, finished in and of itself. A little dead, already, therefore.... Imperfections do exist. Abstractions don't. Imperfections keep us at work! It's the false standards by which we touch up that are ruinous to authenticity.
Very Nice Friend
Thank you for this awesome contribution! :)
Circle is the easiest shape for nature to make
Great
It's just beautiful the way it is but thanks for explaining the symbolism behind the image.
as the well-known proverb says: "There is no limit to perfection" - which literally means that perfection can be achieved indefinitely. This is an abstract concept, invented by people to set a goal, create an ideal of something, and strive for it. People need a goal in life and an endless pursuit of excellence is one such goal, for some.
The art, nor the beauty, are in the camera. They are in the eye of the beholder. Much like love. - What good words
The color of the picture is saturated, but it does not hide the obvious incompleteness of the circle. In the background, a stream rushes into my eyes, sharply starting and just as abruptly breaking off - like life. The color scheme of the picture perfectly balances.
I like your work precisely because looking at it we can reason.
Goodnight :)
You really started me thinking about zero and it's importance in mathematics. Unreasonably important with no residual value.
Perfection is like that in some ways. It has no real value except as the process to achieve it.
I love your photo. I like that the creek is before, in and after the circle. But I think most of all I like the imperfections in the circle itself. A visage of perfection, but not a vision of perfection.
Once again, thanks for you work and efforts. I really do appreciate them.
The perfect word can actually have many meanings, including: whole, complete or not lacking, flawless and blameless, completed, complete, organized, working right, until the goal or reach is targeted, and very good. The perfect word can be imposed in various traits, circumstances, and forms. Thus, the notion of the word perfect can vary and becomes relative depending on where it is applied.
I like the japanese philosophy Wabi-sabi which states that there is beauty in imperfection and what you wrote very much reinforces that thought. Imperfection if often beautiful. The picture also looks like an eye which deters evil spirits in some cultures.
Oh didnt know this existed. thank you! will check out!
Good job) I Enjoyed!
It’s the imperfection that makes everything uniquely beautiful. Especially those found in nature- Fibonacci has its way with every molecule on the planet.
Clean post, Nice picture and view angle. Vivid colours.
Actually got me thinking about how a narrow sight (which is natural to humans) can limit the amount of choices one seems to distinguish in a specific situation. Sometimes, this narrow view even disables us from seeing the bigger picture, the inevitability of things, such as water flowing in a current that can't be overpowered. In this case, the best is just to brace for the loss, prepare emotionally, and get ready to bounce back!
I think zero is defined with the absence, and in the mean in the Union due to the different editor ...
in terms of round became a symbol of unity caused the circular without breaking up the (unified)
in terms of zero in mathematics at interpret the absence of zero because it is not a number.
Thank you @velimir
